Job Description
Position Summary
MTI, Inc. is seeking a reliable, honest, and skilled person who likes working with his or her hands to create and assemble wood components for our best-in-class medical chairs and medical cabinets. MTI, Inc. provides a collaborative production work environment, great benefits, and opportunities to grow and develop yourself in the business. You will contribute to making medical chairs and cabinets that help good doctors and specialists to deliver even better care to their patients.

Tasks & Requirements
  • Reading Blueprints or Drawings and work instructions - Understand technical plans or instructions to determine materials, tools, and assembly steps.
  • Cutting and Preparing Materials - May involve working with pre-cut parts or trimming wood, MDF, or laminate to size using saws or routers.
  • Assembling Components
  • Finishing Work - Sanding, sealing, or painting surfaces; attaching hardware like handles, hinges, and drawer slides.
  • Quality Control - Ensuring final products meet standards-checking for alignment, durability, and finish quality.
  • Using hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers, clamps, and others to to cut, strip, and crimp wires and connectors in place.
  • Power tools (drills, pneumatic nailers, sanders, grinders, routers) Fasteners (screws, nails, wood glue)
  • Attention to detail

Clean and maintain an orderly work area.
Occasionally lift and move items weighing about 30-50 pounds but occasionally using lifts for items weighing up to 80+ pounds.
Be detail-oriented in following directions to avoid errors, making improvements to your own work, and accepting feedback and coaching.
Preferred Requirements
  • High school graduation or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of cabinetry, woodshop or working with hand tools or assembly.

Work Environment
  • Indoors, and a clean environment!
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE)-safety shoes, glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
  • Warehouse and woodshop environment:
    • Medium to loud noise levels.
    • Occasionally around or near moving parts or machinery.
