Smith Industries is seeking a Coating Inspector to join our Quality team. This position is responsible for ensuring surface preparation and coating applications meet customer specifications, industry standards, and company quality requirements while promoting a safe work environment.
Responsibilities
  • Inspect surface preparation, environmental conditions, and coating applications for compliance with project specifications.
  • Perform and document coating inspections, including wet and dry film thickness, adhesion, holiday testing, and final visual inspections.
  • Review customer specifications, coating data sheets, and inspection requirements.
  • Identify and document nonconformances and assist with corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation.
  • Verify proper storage and handling of coating materials and calibration of inspection equipment.
  • Work closely with production, customers, and third-party inspectors to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Follow all company safety policies and wear required PPE.
