Their role is to ensure that coatings are applied correctly and meet industry standards to prevent corrosion and extend the life of assets. They use specialized tools and techniques to test coating thickness, adhesion, and overall quality, providing reports to ensure compliance and safety.

To thrive as a NACE Coating Inspector, you need a solid background in corrosion control, coating application processes, and inspection standards, typically supported by NACE certification (such as CIP Level 1 or higher). Familiarity with inspection tools, coating thickness gauges, and documentation systems is critical for accurate assessments. Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are standout soft skills in this role.
