Summary of Responsibilities
- Instructs, manages, and supervises individuals and groups in classrooms, online, and laboratories through demonstrations, discussions, visual aids, lectures, individualized instruction, and other appropriate methods of instruction.
- Plans, prepares, and follows an approved course of study that includes measurable objectives and student outcomes for each course taught. Prepares instructional materials.
- Evaluates student performance using appropriate testing and grading procedures.
- Engages in scholarly activities, including applied research, and produces scholarly/creative work consistent with disciplinary specialization and the academic goals of the department.
- Serves the department, college, and university by attending departmental meetings, working on committees, and accepting other service appointments.
Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
- Graduation with a NAAB or other accredited professional degree in architecture (M.Arch).
- Professional practice experience in an architecture office, minimum of one year.
- Minimum one year of working experience with BIM modeling software.
- Professional practice experience in an architecture office, with a minimum of three years.
- Certificate in Classical Architecture from the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art (ICAA) or a degree from a university with a focus on classical or traditional architecture.
- Experience working directly with the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB).
- One or more years of successful teaching experience in higher education.
- Professional license in Architecture; OR have completed the experience requirements of the AXP program and are on track to complete the 6 sections of the Architectural Registration Exam.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Knowledge
- Demonstrated knowledge of building technology and integrated building systems, including Building Information
- Modeling (BIM), construction documentation, MEP coordination, and building materials and methods, both traditional and contemporary.
- In-depth knowledge of traditional and classical architectural theory, history, and design.
- Awareness of the cultural and historical contexts that influence architectural design.
- Understanding of the NAAB accreditation process.
- Knowledge of building science and building codes.
- Skill in translating technical and project management knowledge into effective, design-integrated instruction across architectural technology curricula.

- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and rendering programs.
