The Position

As THP continues to expand its Epic Connect program, we are seeking an experienced Epic Connect Senior Advisor - MyChart Applications to provide leadership in the design, implementation, optimization, and support of MyChart platform for Epic Connect partners.

The Epic Connect Senior Advisor - MyChart Applications will serve as the subject matter expert for Epic's patient-facing digital engagement tool MyChart.

Reporting to the Manager, Epic Connect, this role will work closely with Epic Connect partners, operational leaders, clinical stakeholders, technical teams, training teams, privacy and security teams, and Epic counterparts to ensure successful implementation and ongoing optimization of patient engagement workflows.

This individual will lead highly complex projects, provide strategic guidance to Epic Connect partners, and ensure MyChart solutions align with organizational and patient experience objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Epic Connect MyChart Leadership

  • Lead the design, configuration, testing, implementation, and optimization of MyChart and related patient engagement applications for Epic Connect partners.
  • Act as the primary advisor for all Epic Connect patient-facing digital health initiatives.
  • Provide strategic consultation on patient engagement workflows, adoption strategies, and digital transformation opportunities.
  • Support the onboarding of new Epic Connect organizations through discovery, workflow design, validation, and implementation activities.
  • Collaborate with Executive and Business leaders to align MyChart functionality with organizational priorities and patient experience goals.

Application Design & Build

  • Design and configure MyChart functionality to support patient access, communications, scheduling, registration, pre-visit preparation, results review, billing, and virtual care workflows.
  • Lead application build activities, including requirements gathering, workflow analysis, configuration, testing, and deployment.
  • Assess new Epic releases and enhancement opportunities and recommend adoption strategies.
  • Support integration of MyChart with related Epic applications, including Cadence, Prelude, Grand Central, Ambulatory, Orders, Healthy Planet, and Revenue Cycle workflows.
  • Execute comprehensive testing strategies, including integrated testing, user acceptance testing, and upgrade validation.

Epic Connect Partner Support

  • Serve as the senior escalation point for complex MyChart issues affecting Epic Connect partners.
  • Work directly with partner organizations to understand operational needs and translate requirements into system solutions.
  • Provide proactive consultation on optimization opportunities and best practices.
  • Support governance processes, enhancement reviews, change management activities, and roadmap planning.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with partner stakeholders, clinical leaders, operational teams, and technical resources.

 Note: Certifications as a Principal Trainer or Credentialed Trainer do not meet this requirement. 

Experience & Skills

Required Experience

  • Minimum 4+ years of experience supporting Epic MyChart in a healthcare environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience implementing and supporting Epic Connect partners or multi-organization Epic environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex Epic implementations from design through go-live and optimization.

  • Knowledge of privacy, consent, proxy access, and patient information security principles.
  • Understanding of interoperability concepts and Epic Connect governance models.
  • Ability to analyze complex operational requirements and translate them into system solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of Epic upgrade processes and release management.
  • Experience with ServiceNow and ITIL processes is considered an asset.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Informatics, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, Computer Science, or related field required.
  • Master's Degree considered an asset.
