Job Title:

C.N.A.

Reports To:

Director of Health Services

Overview:

To assist the nursing staff with patient care, such as making beds, transporting residents, delivering snacks, assisting in dining room, and helping with room moves.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Must pass certified nursing assistant exam

Must be able to read, write and communicate in English

Ability to communicate with residents, guest and staff

Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods

Ability to lift (50 lbs)

Willingness to work with the elderly

Support Wesley Village’s vision, mission and philosophy statement

Responsibilities:

*Make unoccupied beds and washed beds in an effective manner.

*Empties residents trash and laundry hampers into appropriate containers utilizing Stand Precautions.

*Transports residents to and from beauty shop, dining areas and activities in a safe and prompt manner.

*Delivers snacks and water/ice to resident rooms in a timely and polite manner.

*Assists with feeding of residents, prompting and cueing or passing trays appropriately.

*Assists residents with laundry.

*Restock residents supplies such as linens, Kleenex, bibs, etc.

*Assists with moving furniture and personal items during resident transfers as directed.

*Assists with activity programs, decoration of bulleting boards and calendars as appropriate.

*Cleans wheelchairs as assigned.

*Interacts with the residents to encourage conversation and involvement with dining and activities.

*Following Universal Precautions and Infection Control policies.

*Follow Safety Policies

*Instances of absences and tardiness are within acceptable levels.

*Willingness to work extra shifts and overtime when asked.

*Willingness to accept changes in schedule and work assignments is demonstrated.

*Consistent effort and attention to work results in quality service and performance.

*Ways to improve processes, efficiency, and quality are identified and discussed with supervisor and other appropriate staff members.

*Efforts to improve job skills, knowledge and performance.

*Follow all personnel, department and facility policies are followed.

*Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information to assure resident rights are protected.

*Sensitivity to residents needs.
