Position Summary

Mystic Valley Regional Charter School seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic Upper Elementary Classroom Teacher to join our faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing instruction while creating a structured, supportive, and academically rigorous classroom environment.

The classroom teacher collaborates closely with colleagues, families, and support staff to ensure student success and to help every child reach his or her fullest potential.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain an organized, productive, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Implement the designated curriculum and instructional programs with fidelity.
  • Deliver instruction aligned with the Core Knowledge curriculum sequence.
  • Monitor, assess, and document student progress on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Maintain accurate lesson plans, student records, and assessment data.
  • Participate in all required professional development and training programs.
  • Attend and actively participate in:
    • Weekly grade-level team meetings
    • Teacher Assistance Team (TAT) meetings
    • Faculty and staff meetings
  • Participate in IEP meetings as required.
  • Implement accommodations and modifications outlined in student IEPs and 504 Plans.
  • Conduct peer practice sessions when assigned.
  • Attend and conduct four parent-teacher conferences annually.
  • Attend Back-to-School Night, Open House events, and other required evening programs.
  • Fulfill assigned supervisory responsibilities, including morning, lunch/recess, and afternoon duties.
  • Support and uphold all school policies, procedures, and expectations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by grade-level leaders, department leaders, or school administration.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Massachusetts teaching license preferred but not required.
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, colleagues, and administrators.
  • Commitment to academic excellence and student achievement.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and support a variety of learning needs.
