Job description

This position will provide technical and sustaining engineering support in the parametric and functional test. Program automated test equipment to determine if the wafer fabrication process is in compliance. Recommends and helps to implement equipment and test program modifications to improve production efficiencies, testing integrity and production yields for existing products. Develops and conducts statistical analysis such as design of experiments (DOE) and statistical process control (SPC) targeting area and possibly root cause of failure for yield loss and improving quality. Interacts with product and process engineering personnel to ensure that parametric test specs and results are accurate.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review testing specifications and compare them to the hardware capability.

  • Review device specifications and look for testability.

  • Code the test program to those specifications, using various computer programming languages (mostly C).

  • Checkout and debug the program and hardware.

  • Checkout and debug the devices with the test-wares. Use device knowledge to understand the interaction between the test-ware and device to aid in the debug and test improvement tasks.

  • Support early process development and adjust as the process moves to production.

  • Support production, including training, documenting, adding enhancements for productivity and accuracy, troubleshooting yield issues, use statistical software tools to trace failures to a Fab processing area and communicate findings.

  • Write code for better troubleshooting and verification of the testers being used. Help the maintenance organization be more effective.

  • Maintain standards and Gauge R&R for automated test equipment

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of semiconductor device physics, fabrication processes, and characterization techniques.

  • Proficient in programming using C language in Linux or Windows environment

  • Experience using data handling tools: Excel, JMP, MATLAB, etc.

  • Problem solving, technical writing, and communication skills.

  • Experience using automatic parametric test or reliability test system is a plus.

  • Semiconductor CAD tool experience is a plus.

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, or other microelectronics engineering related fields and 5+ years' job experience in semiconductor tests is required. Master's degree is preferred

Salary: The estimated base salary range for the position is $100,000-$130,000. The pay offered is based on many factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, job-related experience, skills and level of the position.
