About the Role

Hannon Hill is seeking a motivated Software Engineer to help expand our presence in the higher education market by building and expanding on our core products, Cascade and CLIVE. In this role, you will collaborate with other Engineers, Product Management, and Design on all phases of the development cycle, including planning, building, deployment, and post-launch.

This role offers a combination of product engineering and a direct impact on customers by empowering non-technical users to create sophisticated, personalized digital experiences that connect organizations with their audiences through content.

What You'll Do
  • Architect and build full-stack functionality using various technologies (Java, Ruby, TypeScript, React)
  • Review other engineers’ code and collaborate with engineers reviewing your code
  • Manage releases of your own code into staging and production environments
  • Assist our Systems and DevOps team with real-time monitoring and review of production issues
  • Drive engineering excellence through automated testing, CI/CD improvements, and best practices
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • Deep expertise in at least 2 of: Java, Ruby, TypeScript, or comparable application development languages (e.g. Python, C#)
  • Experience working with a web application framework like Spring MVC, Ruby on Rails, Django, or comparable
  • Experience with AWS services (Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudFront)
  • Experience with a web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1+)
