Job description

Job Summary:
Suno is building the world's first creative entertainment platform, where users can create and enjoy music. They are seeking Staff and Senior Software Engineers to develop consumer-facing products that enhance how people experience music on their platform.
Responsibilities:
• Own products and systems end-to-end — from scoping what to build, to shipping, to monitoring and iterating post-launch
• Build backend and full-stack systems that serve millions of users with high performance and reliability
• Design clean, scalable APIs consumed by web, iOS, and Android clients
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Data Science, and peer engineering teams
• Run experiments, instrument metrics, and make data-informed decisions about what to build next
• Communicate proactively and with high bandwidth — concise & information-dense async updates, stakeholder alignment, low entropy
• Raise the technical bar through code quality, architectural thinking, crisp abstractions, and mentorship
Qualifications:
Required:
• 5-7+ years of software engineering experience
• Backend or full-stack experience building consumer products at scale
• Strong API design skills — you’ve built APIs consumed by multiple client teams and have opinions about how they should work
• A generalist, get-it-done attitude paired with genuine technical depth in at least one area
• Comfort with high ambiguity — you can scope what matters, make tradeoffs, and drive forward without a fully defined spec
• Excellent communication skills — your written updates are clear and dense, and you collaborate well across teams
• Product intuition — you think about the end user in addition to the system
Preferred:
• Experience with feed architecture, recommendation systems, content ranking, or search/retrieval at scale
• Experience shipping social product features (follow graphs, notifications, engagement systems, publishing flows) at a consumer company
• Power user of social media with genuine intuition for why engagement mechanics work (familiar with network effects, NFX literature, creator dynamics)
• Hands-on experience with AI image and/or video model inference — diffusion models, token-based inputs, LoRA tuning, inference optimization
• Full-stack capability including modern frontend (React, TypeScript, NextJS)
• Mobile-first API design experience working directly with iOS/Android teams
• Experience building 0→1 products and existing on existing products in a startup environment
• Web experience with Python, Django, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Postgres, Redis
• Technical leadership experience
• A love of music, whether you’re an avid listener or musician yourself
Company:
Suno is a music technology company that provides an AI platform for creating original songs from text prompts and other creative inputs. Founded in 2022, the company is headquartered in Cambridge, USA, with a team of 51-200 employees. The company is currently Growth Stage.
