Art & Humanities Presenter 1 (Full-Time)

About DISCOVERY Childrenโ€™s Museum:

DISCOVERY Childrenโ€™s Museum, based in Las Vegas, Nevada, is dedicated to the educational enrichment of children through hands-on, interactive learning. DISCOVERY Children's Museumโ€™s mission is to ignite a lifelong love of learning by fostering a welcoming, vibrant, and inclusive environment where all are invited to engage in playful and educational experiences.

Position Description:

DISCOVERY Childrenโ€™s Museum seeks a self-motivated, enthusiastic individual to work as part of an interpretive floor team comprised of adults and teen volunteers and interns.ย  The ideal candidate will have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, while creating a mission-oriented environment with excellent customer service and efficiency.

Job Responsibilities:

Interact in a positive and engaging manner with teachers, students and families and explain hands-on exhibits.ย Present interactive and educational demonstrations and assist with the development of special activities.ย Must have dynamic presentation skills and be willing to present public programs to large audiences inside and outside of the Museum setting.ย Supportย volunteers throughout the Museum. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for children and learning and will have experience working in the field of Arts & Humanities Education.

Experience/Qualifications:

High school diploma required.ย  Associate or bachelor's degree in an Arts & Humanities discipline or related discipline preferred.ย  Teaching experience is highly desired.

Physical Requirements:

Include and are not limited to light and heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.), sitting, bending, walking and standing.ย 

A&H P1 Fall Schedule Starting Monday, August 10th:

  • Monday: OFF
  • Tuesday: 9:45 am โ€“ 5pm
  • Wednesday: 9:30 am โ€“ 5pm
  • Thursday: 9:45 am โ€“ 5pm
  • Friday: OFF
  • Saturday: 9:30 am - 5 pm
  • Sunday: 11:45 am - 5 pm

*Schedule can change based on museum scheduling needs. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and occasional evenings.

Compensation

14.00/Hr
