What is a mural?

Mural artists are professionals who create large-scale artworks directly on walls, ceilings, or other permanent surfaces. They use a variety of techniques and mediums, such as paint, mosaic, or digital projections, to transform spaces and convey artistic, cultural, or social messages. Muralists often work on public art projects, collaborating with communities, organizations, or businesses to design and execute their work. Their art can enhance urban environments, celebrate local heritage, or address social issues. Mural artists must have strong artistic skills, creativity, and the ability to work on a large scale.

How does a muralist typically collaborate with clients and other team members during large-scale projects?

Muralists often work closely with clients, project managers, and sometimes other artists to ensure the design aligns with the client's vision and the space's requirements. Collaboration usually involves presenting initial concepts, incorporating feedback, and coordinating logistics such as timelines, materials, and installation processes. Regular communication and flexibility are key, as muralists may need to adapt their designs based on site conditions or team input. This collaborative approach helps create a finished mural that is both visually impactful and tailored to the client’s needs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a mural artist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a mural artist, you need strong drawing and painting abilities, a solid understanding of design principles, and often a portfolio demonstrating large-scale artwork experience. Familiarity with materials like acrylics, spray paints, scaffolding, and sometimes graphic design software is valuable, and certifications in safety or public art may be required for certain projects. Creativity, adaptability, communication, and project management are important soft skills for collaborating with clients and communities. These competencies ensure murals are visually impactful, safely executed, and tailored to their intended environments.

What is the difference between Mural vs Graphic Designer?

Job description

ABOUT THE TEAM

Every day, the Technical Solutions team at Mural makes sure that we're not just "built for the Enterprise" - we are "built for your Enterprise." Through thoughtful discovery, we uncover our customers’ real challenges and design solutions that land right the first time, always considering security and scalability. Our work is vital to driving mutual success for our customers and for Mural. We achieve this in partnership with a diverse, fun team spanning Sales, Customer Success, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Legal, and Security & Compliance.

YOUR MISSION

As a Senior Solutions Engineer for the DACH region, you’ll serve as a trusted technical partner for prospective and existing enterprise customers. Customers in this region are sophisticated buyers with structured purchasing processes and a multitude of security and compliance requirements. You’ll lead discovery sessions with executive stakeholders focused on business value, craft best‑practice solutions, and guide customers through technical, security, integration, and compliance considerations.

This role is ideal for someone with deep SaaS sales experience, strong judgment, and the ability to operate autonomously while working with teammates around the globe. You’ll be a reliable source of knowledge for customers and colleagues alike, helping enterprise teams adopt and scale Mural in ways that are secure, practical, and built for how they actually work.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Drive Strategic Engagements: Act as the primary technical authority for complex Enterprise deals, translating business objectives into scalable Mural solutions.

  • Influence Product Direction: Serve as the "Voice of the Customer," synthesizing regional market feedback to directly inform the product roadmap and go-to-market strategy.

  • Lead Technical Governance: Guide Enterprise stakeholders through complex security, compliance, and integration requirements.

  • Optimize Sales Velocity: Partner with Sales and Customer Success leadership to refine discovery and demo motions, ensuring high-value technical wins in the EMEA market.

  • Elevate Technical Standards: Champion best practices for solution design and documentation across the global SE team, serving as a mentor and escalation point for technical inquiries.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • A proactive mindset and ability to devise creative solutions, comfortable in both business and technical contexts, with a passion for continuous learning and helping customers maximize the value of Mural’s full product suite.

  • 5-7+ years of experience in Solutions/Sales Engineering and technical implementation ideally in enterprise SaaS environments

  • Comfortable working primarily within Central European Time (CET) and traveling occasionally within EMEA for key customer engagements.

  • Fluent German (C1/C2 or native) and professional English, with the ability to confidently conduct discovery sessions, deliver demos, and manage technical, security, and compliance discussions in both languages.

  • Create and deliver compelling product demonstrations and solution narratives that connect Mural’s capabilities to customer outcomes, use cases, deployment considerations, and scalable adoption.

  • Exceptional written communication skills with strong attention to detail, particularly when preparing technical documentation, RFP responses, and security questionnaires.

  • Deep understanding of how SaaS products are designed, built, and implemented, with experience advising customers on integrations and RESTful APIs.

  • Experience navigating enterprise security, compliance, and legal environments, including familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as GDPR and other data protection standards, and systems related to user lifecycle management, data retention, eDiscovery, auditing, and monitoring.
