About the Position: The incumbent will be assigned to the 404th Army Field Support Brigade, Army Field Support Battalion, Supply & Services Division at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.Qualifications:Who May Apply: Only applicants who meet one of the employment authority categories below are eligible to apply for this job. You will be asked to identify which category or categories you meet, and to provide documents which prove you meet the category or categories you selected.   • Current Department of Army Civilian Employees Applying on Time-Limited Assignments

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a Munitions Inspector without more than normal supervision. to include handling conventional ammunition and ammunition peculiar equipment and following safe and proper methods of using tools and gauges required to perform inspection; operate machines to perform the ammunition or explosives production process. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below. Your application will be further evaluated to determine if you meet the best qualified cut-off for referral to the selecting official.
  • Ability To Do The Work Of The position Without More Than Normal Supervision
  • Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (related to mobile equipment operation)
  • Dexterity and Safety
  • Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc.
  • Knowledge of Materials
  • Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)
  • Use of Measuring Instruments

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work performance requires moderately heavy lifting (40 lbs), good eyesight, and considerable standing, kneeling, squatting and bending.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Works both inside and outside, exposed to dirt, grease, cleaning solvents, sharp metal strapping, high explosives and propellants, bare boostering explosives, chemical smoke devices, flammable solids (i.e., WP, RP, powdered metals, etc.,) electrostatically initiated ammunition, materials sensitive to static sparks and nonstandard materials. The worker is exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, falls or accidents with moving equipment. Employee is required to wear safety shoes, coveralls, face shields, goggles, masks, gloves, hard hat, hearing protection and/or other safety equipment and clothing while engaged in various surveillance operations and inspections.Education:This job does not have an education qualification requirement.Employment Type: OTHER
