Position Purpose
The Decision Engine Developer supporting the OpenSky Decision Engine, you will play a key role in designing, building, and testing eligibility and decision strategies within a low-code decision engine platform (e.g., Provenir, Oscilar, GDS Link). This role is ideal for a highly detail-oriented practitioner with strong technical and analytical skills who can translate business requirements into effective, scalable decision logic. You will work closely with business and technical teams to implement strategies, ensure accuracy through testing, and support ongoing optimization of decisioning processes.
Position Responsibilities
  • Strategy Implementation & Development
    • Translate business requirements into decision engine rules and workflows
    • Build and maintain rulesets within the decision platform
    • Implement automated processes to improve efficiency and consistency
  • Testing & Quality Assurance
    • Perform comprehensive unit, integration, and regression testing
    • Validate that decision outcomes align with expected results and business intent
    • Troubleshoot and debug issues within rules, data flows, and integrations
  • System Performance & Optimization
    • Support system performance monitoring and issue resolution
    • Assist in identifying risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities within strategies
    • Contribute to performance tracking, reporting, and ongoing optimization efforts
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with business stakeholders to understand detailed requirements and expected outcomes
    • Work with technical teams to apply platform best practices and ensure proper implementation

Minimum Education & Experience
  • 3-5 years risk management strategy implementation experience in a FinTech / banking environment
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration, mathematics, engineering, or related quantitative discipline
  • 3-5 years low-code decision engine system experience (GDS Link, Provenir, Decisions, Oscilar, etc.)
  • Master's degree in business, mathematics, engineering, or related discipline preferred
  • Experience with implementing credit and fraud risk models (R, Python, SAS) preferred
  • Data analysis experience (SQL, Excel, PowerBI) preferred

Technical Knowledge and Skills
  • Object-oriented programming expertise
  • Experience implementing JavaScript in a back-end environment (e.g. NodeJS)
  • Understanding of credit risk business domain

Compensation
  • Base Salary Range: $115,000 - $145,000 annually. Final determination of where you are at in the salary range is based on numerous factors such as geographical location, relevant experience, skill set, education, and ability to meet qualifications within the job description.
  • Additional Compensation: This role will include a yearly annual target bonus based on individual performance.

Working Arrangements
  • This is a 100% remote role
