Job description

SUMMARY
The Campus Youth Director plays a vital role in advancing the mission of Rock City Church by leading and pastoring middle and high school students at the campus. This individual is responsible for building and developing a thriving youth ministry by discipling students, equipping and growing leaders, and creating engaging environments where students can encounter Jesus. This role also partners closely with families and Next Gen teams to ensure a healthy and consistent pathway for students from kids ministry into youth.
GENERAL DUTIES
  • Champion the vision and culture of Rock City Church and Rock City Youth at the campus level
  • Serve as the primary pastor for students (grades 6-12), providing spiritual leadership, discipleship, and care
  • Build, recruit, develop, and lead a strong team of youth leaders
  • Foster meaningful relationships with students to encourage spiritual growth and connection
  • Lead the execution of weekly youth environments, including curriculum implementation and volunteer leadership
  • Support and execute Youth Nights and other youth-specific events with excellence
  • Partner with parents and families by providing communication, support, and discipleship resources
  • Create and maintain safe, engaging, and age-appropriate environments for all youth gatherings
  • Partner with the Campus Kids Director to create a smooth and healthy transition from Rock City Kids into Youth
  • Collaborate with campus and central teams to ensure alignment with vision, strategy, and processes
  • Identify and develop future leaders, creating a strong leadership pipeline within youth ministry
  • Engage with the local community to reach and connect with students beyond the church walls
  • Respond to pastoral needs, challenges, and emergencies with wisdom and care

Requirements
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in youth ministry, student leadership, or a related field
  • Demonstrates a strong, active relationship with Jesus and alignment with the mission and values of Rock City Church
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and multiply volunteer teams
  • Passion for discipling middle and high school students
  • Strong relational and pastoral care skills with both students and families
  • Effective communicator with the ability to engage and inspire students
  • Ability to lead environments, teams, and events with excellence and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
  • High emotional intelligence, with sound judgment and discretion in sensitive situations
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a positive and servant-hearted approach
