Job description

The Multinational Regional Manager based in Boston will lead a team of Multinational team members who collectively underwrite a full suite of Multinational products to a universe of Major Accounts and Commercial Insurance clients.

Key objectives for the role include: 

  • Achieve financial goals related to renewal retention, rate, and new business production.
  • Oversee of renewal book including service and stewardship deliverables at the account level.
  • Grow book of business through new business production and coverage expansion to current book.
  • Ensure regional underwriting integrity and profitability.
  • Manage regional authority inclusive of underwriting referrals from underwriters as well as referrals up through Home Office.  
  • Supervise, develop, and train employees.
  • Manage agent and producer relationships.
  • Coordinate cross-sell opportunities.

Other job responsibilities and functions include, but not limited to:

  • Weekly & Monthly reporting of Multinational regional performance.
  • Account solicitation, risk selection, analysis (including documentation), referral, pricing, quoting and sales of products and services for new and renewal business.
  • Negotiate coverage, price, financial terms, and service delivery.
  • Communicate underwriting appetite to staff through adherence to UW Authorities, Bulletins, and participation in weekly meetings and routine HO directed conference calls.
  • Manage Target Account process for the region, including all appropriate documentation of such in Tracker.
  • Direct broker planning and goal setting including monitoring of progress and foster key broker relationships with our key trading partners.
  • Meet with customers in sales or stewardship meetings and be able to represent Chubb.
  • Lead in a collaborative team environment with participants in Underwriting, Legal, Loss Control, Claims, Operations, Finance, Sr. Mgmt., etc. to find solutions to account specific problems.
  • Oversee account management throughout the region with a focus on retaining business, meeting service standards, and hitting quote dates as part of an overall customer focused strategy.
  • Collect and share competitive intelligence with team and Home Office.
  • Coordinate self-audit process in accordance with regional goals and lead Multinational team to successful outcome in all Home Office directed regional underwriting audits.
  • Participate in national working groups on underwriting issues common to all regions and develop underwriting solutions to regional specific issues.

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of insurance experience, preferably international property, and casualty 
  • 2+ years of relevant training, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Knowledge of Life Sciences and Tech industries desired
  • Working knowledge of commercial underwriting and insurance industry theories and practices.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise and product specific knowledge.
  • Proven and successful, sales skills. 
  • Prior people management experience a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills. 
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software.

The pay range for the role is $160,000-215,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant's skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.  Chubb offers a comprehensive benefits package, more details on which can be found on our careers website.  The disclosed pay range estimate may be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
