Harbor Group International's Asset Management Group manages all the company's direct equity, preferred equity, and debt portfolio investments across a national portfolio.Role OverviewThe VP, Asset Management, Multifamily Direct Equity โ€“ Portfolio Manager joins Harbor Group International's Asset Management Group with a specific focus on the firm's multifamily direct equity investments. Based in New York City (onsite), this is a hands-on portfolio management role covering the full lifecycle of value-add and core multifamily real estate assets.Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Transactions, Property Management, and Investor Relations teams on new acquisitions by providing general risk assessments, reviewing business plans, investor projection models, and capital plans; document operational plans and investment goals/objectives.- Monitor weekly and monthly property data for owned multifamily assets, including leasing reports, traffic reports, construction progress reports, and aged delinquencies, with a high focus on balance sheet accounts and cash positions.- Approve capital expenditures including disbursements for value-add capital improvement programs; manage capital account balances.- Stay current on local, regional, and national real estate and financial market trends to inform forward capital planning.- Work closely with senior leadership to evaluate portfolio performance and drive operational improvements across the multifamily portfolio.Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate brings direct experience in multifamily real estate asset management or private equity real estate, with strong financial modeling skills and comfort working across acquisitions, property operations, and investor reporting.
