BILINGUAL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Mission of the Role
To support the mission of evangelization by providing administrative, communication, and operational assistance that enables the Secretariat to effectively form missionary disciples across diverse communities. “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” (Mt. 28:19). “The Church exists in order to evangelize.” (Evangelii Nuntiandi, 14).
Position Summary
The Secretariat for Evangelization and Discipleship, Diocese of Camden, is seeking a full-time bilingual administrative assistant. Qualified candidates must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish, be organized and self-motivated, and enjoy working with multicultural communities. Knowledge of Microsoft Office is required; experience managing social media is a plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Communication
• Receive and process phone calls from individuals and organizations requesting networking with multicultural parishes
• Distribute and respond in a timely fashion to correspondence
• Send information regarding parish and diocesan events to leaders and offices
• Design and send promotional materials
• Prepare agendas and minutes for meetings
• Update website content
• Translate materials into English and/or Spanish
• Prepare newsletters for parishes
Financial
• Maintain financial records for Secretariat activities
• Submit receipts and expenditures to accounting
Record Keeping
• Update contact information for ministers and volunteers
• Maintain organized filing systems
• Maintain office records
Other
• Manage office supplies
• Provide support to Hispanic, Multicultural, Youth, and Young Adult Ministries
• Assist leadership to ensure effective ministry operations
Qualifications
• High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred
• 3–5 years of administrative experience
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Bilingual (English-Spanish) and multicultural sensitivity
Pay Range: $42,500 to $45,500
