Job description

Job Title:

Teacher Education - Multicultural Education/Teaching Multilingual Learners Full-Time Professorial CFS Track (tenure equivalent)

Posting End Date:November 1, 2026

Position Start Date:August 1, 2027

Required Degree:

Doctoral degree with specialization in multicultural education, ESL/TESOL, or related field.

The required degree must be completed by the start date.

Experience:

  • Successful K-12 public school classroom teaching experience (preference given to candidates with a minimum of three years)

  • Demonstrated potential for research productivity

  • Demonstrated ability/interest to partner with local schools

  • Knowledge of national trends in multicultural education and/or ESL/TESOL

Duties/Expectations:

Teaching

  • Teach courses related to multicultural education and/or multilingual education at the undergraduate level, and related courses at the masters level

  • Mentor undergraduate and masters students in research and teaching

  • Advise masters and doctoral degree candidates

Scholarship

  • Engage in high levels of research activity and publication

Citizenship

  • Demonstrate a pattern of leadership at the department, school, and university levels

  • Fulfill committee assignments and other citizenship activities inside the university, community, and profession
