Job description

Loss Prevention Program Administrator

To increase the profitability of our retail efforts through successful administration Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) and its affiliated entities Loss Prevention program.

Candidate must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Protects company assets by successfully executing/performing all external theft program elements including but not limited to deterrence and apprehensions.
  • Accurately builds and records all external theft cases using case management software.
  • Proactively conducts external theft investigations utilizing exception-based reports, Team Member/customer tips, and (Closed-Circuit Television) CCTV review.
  • Reviews all elements related to Asset Protection's case management records system for completion and accuracy.
  • Conducts surveillance physically and by use of CCTV on all company property including but not limited to: buildings, donations, merchandise, vehicles, etc.
  • As needed, participates in the investigations and closing of internal cases.
  • Works with Store Leadership, Asset Protection Leadership, Asset Protection Multi-District Representatives, Risk Department, various law enforcement and public safety agencies to minimize and eliminate loss due to theft, including loss resulting from paperwork and process errors.
  • Interacts with customers and criminals evaluating critical moments related to customer behavior and physical actions. Determines if they will make physical contact with a suspect to arrest or deter criminal activity, always evaluating the physical risk to themselves, Team Members, and customers.
  • Each case is reviewed individually to determine if the suspect will be prosecuted or not.
  • Continually identifies and recommends improvements in processes.
  • Enforces company policies to minimize and eliminate loss of company assets.
  • For investigative purposes, is granted some access to confidential Human Resources and Finance department files. Treats confidential information with appropriate discretion and does not engage in unauthorized use of confidential information or abuse of access.
  • Creates, utilizes, and acts on reports related to incidents of theft, fraud, and quality analytics.
  • Responsible for following and ensuring all safety rules are complied with and appropriate safety equipment is used.
  • Utilizes software and reporting tools to identify high risk locations and prioritizes services to those sites, traveling to those locations as needed.
  • Assists in review of programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Conducts Asset Protection and Risk audits, determining if training is required for a location or a specific person, and adjusting the training as appropriate.
  • Reviews external cases, walks the site, and determines program adherence. Gives guidance to all Team Members at the store including Managers, if needed.
  • Consults with GCNA legal department prior to and during all company related legal proceedings such as, but not limited to, court appearances, subpoenas, etc.
  • Utilizes excellent verbal and written communications to facilitate prosecution and restitution proceedings.
  • Displays exceptional judgment during execution of company policies and programs in all situations.
  • Successfully completes required Asset Protection training in the required time period.
  • Maintains regular and consistent in-person attendance.

  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):

  • High School education or GED required.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in retail security/loss prevention preferred.
  • Must successfully pass GCNA position certification processes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of all aspects of Retail/Industrial Security Systems.
  • Experience with digital camera equipment operation.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, mathematical skills, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to speak and read English proficiently.
  • Maintains confidentiality and integrity at all times.
  • Must have a valid Drivers' license with a clean MVR.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for position.
