About McIntosh Trail
At McIntosh Trail Community Service Board, we offer individuals experiencing symptoms associated with mental illness, addictive
disease and/or developmental disability the hope for optimal functioning and recovery by providing quality behavioral health services
and supports.


Summary
Under direct supervision learns to prepare, heat and finish cooking food items and serve customers. Learns how to receive and
disburse money in a food service establishment. Cleans work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware.
Responsibilities
The cook will prepare meals and follow establishment recipes. Duties include preparing ingredients, adhering to the menu, and
following food health and safety procedures. Cook, clean, assist other staff and deliver food in a fast-paced environment. Work may
include operating a grill, oven, or fryer.
• Setting up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment, preparing ingredients to use in cooking. Cooking
food in various utensils or grillers.
• Check food while cooking to stir or turn, Ensure great presentation. Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly, check quality of ingredients, Monitor and stock using the first in first out.
• Checking dates to ensure food is in date and monitoring the 3-5-day policy on cooked foods.
• Check emails on daily basis and keep current all Relias training and Serve-Safe certifications.
• Dress wearing the appropriate uniforms, clean and wrinkle free.
• Ensure that uniform includes having fob and keys needed to do your job. Be at work on time and follow all policy provided.
• Prepare food in a timely manner, taste the food to make sure it is something you are proud to serve with good flavor.
• Serve hot food 135 or above and cold food 41 or below.
• Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
• Works when scheduled; begins and ends work as expected; calls in according to policy when absent; observes policies on
break and lunch periods; maintains the ability to work with multi-cultural and diverse populations.
• Has knowledge of individual rights and responsibilities and knowledge to work and interact with individuals at the work site.
Has the ability to ability to know staff and organization Code of Ethics; has knowledge and ability to follow Confidentiality
policies.
• Requests and uses leave time appropriately; submits leave request on a timely basis; Requests and uses the proper type
leave in accordance with established rules and policies; provide documentation for use of leave when required.
• Observes established policies on health, safety, security and sanitation; notifies proper authorities of circumstances or
situations that present potential health hazards.
• Performs work according to rules, regulations, polices, and guidelines. Ensure required licensures and certifications are
current.
Minimum Qualifications
• High School diploma or GED, AND six months experience in related field
• Note: Some positions require a valid Georgia's Driver's License.
Physical Requirements
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25/50 lbs.
• Sitting, standing and/or walking, pushing/pulling, handling, reaching, bending, twisting, crawling, kneeling, squatting, climbing
(ladders or stairs), overhead reaching.
