Job description

Position Summary: The CDL / Spot Driver is responsible for transporting finished products between our production environment and local distribution centers including Shelby. This person will follow operating procedures for such vehicles, including safety precautions and the operating of control panels and special vehicle functions. This position works in a team environment to ensure inventories of products are accurate and all shipments are ready for transport as per scheduled time.

Starting Pay - $30 hourly Job Responsibilities: Safely transports finished goods to and from specified locations (manufacturing to distribution, or distribution to storage warehouse, etc.). Will assist in loading and unloading of trucks, properly securing goods to ensure they are not damaged in transit. Uses approved scanning technology to assist in maintaining inventory management as products are moved from one location to another

Follows standard protocol of recording all loads hauled, unloaded, etc. Follows shipping orders and schedules while identifying, verifying, and transporting requested materials/orders on time as required. Ensures proper daily paperwork for deliveries is completed and maintained (if applicable).

Assists in warehouse wide physical inventory process or other warehouse projects as needed. Completes all pre-shift inspection checklists on all power equipment; trucks, tow motors, etc.) to ensures compliance to ODOT regulations. Reports any mechanical, electrical or equipment concerns to Shipping and Receiving Manager and/or Plant Manager Ensures compliance with all State and Federal Laws

Complies with all safety rules, OSHA guidelines, GMP and PEE guidelines as well as any departmental/line specific work instructions and protocol. Performs all duties as directed/assigned by Shipping and Receiving Manager/ Assistant Manager, Plant Manager or Human Resource leadership. Complies with The Employee Handbook and all other Edge Plastics policies and protocols.

Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent education Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) Minimum of 2-4 years of proven CDL experience. Proven experience driving/maneuvering in multi-dock locations. Clean driving records.

Sound knowledge of road safety regulations. Basic computer knowledge using Microsoft suite. Experience operating inventory scanner tools and platforms a plus.

Minimum of six (6) months experience driving power equipment (tow motor) Satisfactorily pass forklift driving training program or demonstrate safe handling of forklift in an on-site test. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** The CDL / Spot Driver must have the following abilities: Must be able to physically move throughout large warehouse, on foot and/or via tow motor Must be physically able to climb in/out of truck and on/off power equipment (Tow motor) and operate per safety standards. Must be able to lift 50 lbs repetitively.

Read and comprehend written and mathematical instructions and ensure instructions are met and achieved upon review of completed product. Must be able to properly record quality related concerns as they arise. Must possess analytical and counting skills.

Ability to communicate in professional tone and manner in both verbal and written means. Must be willing to move about and work in alternative departments on alternative projects as business needs require. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in a collaborative team setting.
