What is a mule?

In the context of employment, 'mules' typically refer to individuals who transport goods, money, or illegal substances from one location to another, often unknowingly for criminal organizations. A common example is a 'money mule,' who transfers illegally obtained money between different accounts or countries to help launder it. While some people may be tricked into becoming mules through fake job offers or scams, others may knowingly participate. Being a mule, even unknowingly, can have serious legal consequences. It's important to recognize suspicious job offers and avoid roles that involve transferring money or packages for unknown parties.
