Job Summary:
Deloitte is a leading consulting firm focused on transforming technology platforms and driving innovation. As a Consultant - Guidewire PolicyCenter Developer, you will configure and extend Guidewire PolicyCenter to support insurance product and underwriting needs, collaborating with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical design.
Responsibilities:
• Bring an analytical, and delivery-focused mindset to configure and extend Guidewire PolicyCenter to support P&C insurance product and underwriting needs.
• Work closely with client stakeholders and Deloitte delivery teams to help translate business requirements into PolicyCenter configuration and technical design, including product model updates, rules and workflows, and Gosu-based extensions.
• Collaborate with teams supporting integrations, data, and adjacent Guidewire components as needed to deliver quality solutions.
• Continue to build your PolicyCenter knowledge, remain open to coaching and feedback, and contribute to the success of the team through strong execution, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree
• 3+ years consulting and/or relevant insurance industry experience (P&C, Life & Annuity/Group, Commercial, Specialty)
• 3+ years implementing insurance core platforms (e.g., Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco, Origami or similar)
• 3yrs full lifecycle large-scale implementations (PolicyCenter, Billing, and/or Claims systems)
• 2 yrs of experience working in one of the following sub service areas: Insurance Products, Underwriting, Claims, Billing & Payments, Policy Administration or Distribution
• 1 year experience estimating and planning Large Scale System Implementations
• Ability to travel 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
• Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
Preferred:
• Advanced degree in area of technical specialization
• CPCU, AIC, ARM Certification
• Guidewire Integration or Configuration certification
• 1 year experience with Guidewire Cloud Claims migration
• Experience delivering via an Agile/Scrum methodology
• A strong Java, Gosu (Guidewire), EJB, BPEL, UNIX background
• Experience with Business Process Modeling (BPM) tools, Business rules integration
• Experience with technologies like BEA, Sonic, IBM, Oracle, Apache ServiceMix, FuseESB, Camel, Mule etc.
• Strong knowledge and comprehension of standards, specifications, standards bodies (e.g., XML, UDDI, JMS, Web services, etc.)
• Experience with Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP
