Job description


Position Summary

Administers payroll, 401k program, ACA reporting, employee benefits, leave, COBRA, Workers’ Compensation, and unemployment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Process Multi State Payroll for all Mueller Yurgae Associates
  • Validate reports, and resolves payroll discrepancies
  • Enter additional earnings for employees ie, spiffs, bonus, mileage Processes garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, and quarterly tax verifications.
  • Set-up new payroll tax accounts with states as needed.
  • Work with payroll provider ( ADP) to ensure accuracy on monthly, quarterly, and year end federal, state, Social Security, and unemployment tax preparation and filing.
  • Review year-end payroll W-2s.
  • Verify minimum wage requirements are observed for all states. Monitors and updates drive time hourly rate in payroll.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information and records.
  • Respond to unemployment claims. Reviews quarterly unemployment statements.
  • Process verifications of employment as required.
  • Administer group benefits programs (health, dental, vision, life, cancer, accident, short-term disability, and long-term disability insurance and health savings account)
  • Process monthly billings from providers. Reviews billings for accuracy and approves for payment. Resolves discrepancies with carriers.
  • Work with agent to assist employees with insurance claim issues.
  • Update payroll deductions for benefit rate changes.
  • Assist Marketing Director with Internal Newsletter and Organizational Chart updating and various internal and external projects
  • Monitor employee HSA eligibility and maintains employee and employer HSA deductions.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of and experience with varied human resource information systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience

  • Five years of payroll and benefit administration
