Job description

Responsibilities
**This is for a potential upcoming opportunity.
Mission
As a Senior Training Instructor for SCS Mobile Training Teams, you will ensure training excellence, curriculum integrity, and instructor readiness in direct support of PMS 339 and Fleet operational demands.
Why This Role Matters
This position ensures that Navy training is: Technically accurate, Operationally relevant, Consistent across platforms and locations, Aligned with Ready Relevant Learning modernization efforts. You will shape how Sailors are trained-and how instructors deliver that training.
Senior-Level Responsibilities
  • Deliver classroom and hands-on instruction supporting Navy-approved curricula
  • Train Sailors to: Operate Ship Control Systems within technical limits, Diagnose and troubleshoot system casualties, Execute Steering and Thrust Control Watchstation duties
  • Conduct instruction in accordance with: Engineering Operational Sequencing System (EOSS), Technical Manuals and Shipboard Operating Procedures
  • Support Ready Relevant Learning (RRL) objectives by tailoring instruction to Fleet and platform needs
  • Maintain instructional accuracy, safety, and consistency across training events
  • Provide technical and instructional oversight across SCS MTT training
  • Ensure curriculum execution aligns with:
    • PMS 339 requirements
    • RRL principles
    • Navy training standards
  • Conduct quality assurance of training delivery and materials
  • Mentor and develop junior instructors
  • Serve as a primary interface with: Government training leads, Program stakeholders, Curriculum and training authorities

Curriculum & Quality Assurance Leadership
  • Review and validate training content for accuracy and relevance
  • Support curriculum updates and modernization initiatives
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements
  • Ensure instructional consistency across sites and instructors

Who Should Apply - Senior Training Instructor (SCS MTT)
This role is designed for senior Navy leaders and master instructors ready to provide technical oversight, mentorship, and training leadership.
You should apply if you are a current or former:
  • Chief Petty Officer (E-7-E-9)
  • Limited Duty Officer (LDO) or Chief Warrant Officer (CWO)
  • Surface Warfare Officer (SWO) with engineering, combat systems, or training leadership experience

Highly relevant leadership billets include:
  • Engineering or Combat Systems LCPO
  • Training Officer or Engineering Training Officer
  • Department Training Team Lead
  • Schoolhouse Lead Instructor or MTT Lead

Senior qualifications that align strongly:
  • EOOW, CSWO, OOD
  • Senior Steering or Thrust Control authority
  • NECs such as 9501 (Master Training Specialist), 9586 (CMM), 9588 (ISS)

Required Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree OR 15+ years of relevant Navy experience
  • 7+ years of professional curriculum development experience
  • Navy Instructor experience
  • Interim Secret clearance or higher
  • US Citizen

Required Senior-Level Expertise
  • Advanced technical mastery of SCS and related shipboard systems
  • Proven Navy instructional leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of Navy training development and execution
  • Ability to mentor instructors and uphold training standards

Desired Qualifications
  • Advanced degree and/or Navy Training Systems discipline
  • 10+ years of curriculum development experience
  • Extensive senior-level Navy instructor and leadership background

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis' total compensation package.
