Job description

Project Overview: ESP Enterprises, Inc., subcontractor for Conduent Transportation Solutions, is seeking two physically capable Installation Technicians for a short-term MTA project involving the installation of protective shields/walls around 54 faregates across 7 subway stations in New York City.

Project Timeline:

  • Phase 1: November 17, 2025 – December 19, 2025
  • Phase 2: February 12, 2026 – February 18, 2026

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 PM – 4:00 AM

Locations: Work will be performed at the following MTA stations:

  • 3rd Ave – 138th Street
  • Bedford Park Blvd
  • Roosevelt Avenue – Jackson Heights
  • Broadway – Lafayette
  • Flushing – Main Street
  • 33rd Street
  • King's Highway

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with delivery, transportation, and positioning of faregate protective shields/walls
  • Move and maneuver protective shields weighing up to 600 pounds as part of a team
  • Support installation crew with placement and securing of shields
  • Operate hand and power tools as needed for installation tasks
  • Follow direction from project supervisors and lead installers
  • Maintain safe work practices in active transit environments
  • Assist with general installation tasks as assigned

Requirements:

  • Proven experience with hand and power tools
  • Excellent physical condition with ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy materials (600+ lbs with team assistance)
  • Ability to work overnight shifts in subway station environments
  • Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions
  • Must provide own basic hand tools, transportation, and PPE
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and around active transit operations
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality


Physical Demands: This position requires significant physical labor including prolonged standing, bending, lifting, and moving heavy protective shields throughout the shift.
