POSITION SUMMARY

The Lift Mechanic II adds expertise in providing support to the Lift Maintenance department to ensure that the ski lifts are operating in a safe and efficient manner.


EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE/ SKILLS AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid drivers’ license.
  • Must have knowledge and experience in the operation of fixed and detachable lift systems.
  • Must have knowledge of safety requirements and procedures.
  • Must know basics of electrical/ electronics systems, mechanical systems, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems and control systems.
  • Knowledge of pre-operational maintenance checklist.
  • Training and experience on the safe operation of a snowmobile.
  • Training and experience in the safe operation of heavy equipment.
  • Knowledge of harness and lanyard use in climbing.
  • Ability to troubleshoot controls on fixed grip and detachable installations.
  • Basic alignment skills.
  • Ability to change sheaves on all lifts.
  • Knowledge of A.C. – D.C. voltage.
  • Excellent English communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and prioritize tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
o Performs all pre-operational checks for lift clearance in the morning
o Responsible for filling out pre-operational logs.
o Monitors terminals and lines during operation.
o Shuts down lift at the end of the business day
o Reports data to supervisor.
o Operation of APU on all lifts.
o Level 2 entry code into control logic screens on detachable lifts.
o Operation of computer on pils system for Lakeview lift.
o Performs various aspects of summer maintenance.
MARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
o Coordinate and cooperate with other departments as necessary in the completion of the above essential duties.
o Provide information and answer questions about the resort to resort guests.
o Any other duties that may contribute to the cleanliness, orderliness and overall efficiency of the entire operation and all of the tasks contained therein.
