Supervisors help students navigate challenging client interactions, develop professional boundaries, and reflect on ethical considerations. Additionally, they provide opportunities for skill-building, connect students with resources within the organization, and foster a learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and discussing concerns.

What is an MSW practicum?

An MSW practicum is a supervised field education experience that is required as part of a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree. It allows students to apply classroom learning to real-world social work settings such as schools, hospitals, or community organizations. During the practicum, students work under the guidance of a licensed social worker, developing practical skills, professional ethics, and an understanding of client interactions. This hands-on experience is essential for building competence and confidence before entering the professional workforce.
