Description:

Michigan State University Research Foundation (MSU Research Foundation) is part of the Global Epicenter of Mobilityโ€™s (GEM) Mobility Funderโ€™s Network and is seeking to engage a Mobility Operations & Engagement Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) to support the Mobility Funders Network, focusing on mobility-related initiatives. The EIR will closely with the Director of MSU Mobility to drive industry engagement, manage communications and marketing, and execute a robust calendar of conferences and events.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage mobility advisory council and industry meetings, including agenda development, logistics, curate presentations, and follow-up action items
  • Plan, staff, and execute 7โ€“8 mobility-related conferences and events through 2026, managing logistics, speaker coordination, and on-site operations
  • Coordinate and participate in MSUโ€™s presence at major industry conferences and organize demo days connecting portfolio companies with investors and partners
  • Manage email traffic and stakeholder communications on behalf of the Mobility Director
  • Support content creation for mobility social media, website, and e-communications
Requirements:


Skills: Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, strong project management capabilities, proficiency with CRM systems, email marketing platforms, and event management tools; ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams across university, startup, and corporate contexts

Experience: 5+ years in operations, engagement, marketing, or event management with a track record of planning and executing industry conferences and professional events; experience in the mobility, automotive, or transportation technology ecosystem preferred

Industry Knowledge: Strong existing relationships across the mobility and automotive landscape; understanding of industry trends, key players, and the broader ecosystem; comfort engaging with corporate executives, university leadership, investors, and technical founders

Commitment: 20โ€“30 hours/week, hybrid (East Lansing office)
