What are MST Services?

MST Services refers to Multisystemic Therapy (MST), an evidence-based treatment program designed to help youth with serious behavioral problems and their families. MST Services provides training, support, and resources to organizations and therapists implementing this intensive, home-based intervention. The therapy focuses on addressing the multiple factors—such as family, peers, school, and community—that contribute to antisocial behavior in adolescents. MST Services ensures that programs maintain fidelity to the MST model, which has been shown to reduce rates of criminal behavior, substance abuse, and out-of-home placements.

What are some common challenges faced by MST Services therapists, and how can new hires prepare for them?

MST (Multisystemic Therapy) therapists often encounter challenges such as managing complex family dynamics, maintaining engagement with youth and caregivers, and balancing a flexible schedule with high caseload demands. New hires can prepare by developing strong communication skills, staying organized, and seeking regular supervision for support. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and utilizing evidence-based practices can help address these challenges effectively while ensuring positive outcomes for families.

What is the MST program?
