Job description

Description

The Ophthalmology Nurse Practitioner (NP) will provide advanced practice care in both the emergency room and inpatient consult settings. Working collaboratively with ophthalmology residents, fellows, and attending physicians, the APP will evaluate patients, perform comprehensive histories, physical and ophthalmic examinations, and assist in the assessment and management of ophthalmology consults from the Emergency Department, operating rooms, and inpatient units. The APP may also provide outpatient follow-up care and support continuity of care across clinical settings. This role is designed to improve timely access to ophthalmic care, enhance consult efficiency, and expand the Department of Ophthalmology's clinical capacity. The APP may need to go to Santa Monica Hospital as well as Ronald Reagan Medical Center Emergency Department in Westwood.

Salary range: $93.87- $133.97/hourly

Qualifications
  • BLS Certification from AHA or ARC- required
  • ACLS Certification from AHA or ARC-required
  • CA RN and CA NP License-required
  • National Certification in NP Specialty (AGACNP, Acute Care NP)- required
  • MSN or DNP-required
  • Prior Ophthalmology experience (2 years)- preferred
  • 1-2 years experience as NP- preferred
