The Opportunity

Our Client is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to serve as the technical bridge between customers and product teams. You will work directly with engineers, researchers, and technical leadership at customer organizations, translating complex scientific and engineering challenges into deployable AI-powered solutions.

This role is ideal for someone who combines deep scientific knowledge with hands-on software engineering skills and enjoys working closely with customers to solve high-impact technical problems.

What You'll Do
  • Partner directly with customer engineering and research teams
  • Understand complex photonic, semiconductor, and hardware design workflows
  • Design and deploy AI-powered workflows using LLMs, simulations, and scientific models
  • Build prototypes demonstrating AI-assisted modeling, optimization, and automation
  • Orchestrate workflows combining AI systems, simulation environments, and customer data
  • Translate field insights into product feedback and roadmap recommendations
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor throughout pilots and production deployments

Requirements
  • MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, Photonics, or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Applied AI, Solutions Engineering, or Forward Deployed Engineering
  • Strong Python programming skills
  • Experience with scientific computing and workflow orchestration
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs, APIs, agentic systems, and modern AI tooling
  • Experience working directly with customers or technical stakeholders
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to bridge scientific concepts and software implementation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, Pydantic, Ray, or similar frameworks
  • Experience with semiconductor, photonics, or EDA environments
  • Hardware-software co-design experience
  • Cloud or HPC deployment experience
  • Published research combined with industry experience
