The Competency & Credentialing Institute (CCI) has been the leader in perioperative certification for more than 45 years, certifying over 40,000 nurses internationally. An industry leader in nursing competency assessment, CCI is the credentialing body for the Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR), Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM), Certified Perioperative CNS (CNS-CP), Certified Ambulatory Surgery Nurse (CNAMB), Certified Foundational Perioperative Nurse (CFPN), and Nursing Professional Development Advanced - Board Certified (NPDA-BC) credentials.
Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Business Development & Sales Specialist, the Business Development Associate supports CCI's employer engagement and business development initiatives through trade show coordination, sponsorship management, event logistics, lead management, and administrative support.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Trade Shows & Events
  • Research, identify, and recommend relevant trade shows, conferences, and industry events aligned with company goals.
  • Coordinate event logistics including registration, travel, shipping, booth setup, promotional materials, vendor communications, event timelines, and inventory.
  • Represent the company on-site at events; engage prospects, promote products/services, and capture qualified leads.
  • Capture and qualify leads on-site, with a specific focus on identifying facility sales opportunities to be handed off to the Business Development & Sales Specialist for follow-up.
  • Follow up with non-facility contacts post-event to nurture relationships and support pipeline development.
  • Track event ROI and prepare recap reports with key metrics and recommendations.
  • Prepare post-event reports, reconcile event expenses, maintain event calendars , and ensure sponsor deliverables are completed.

Sponsorships
  • Identify and evaluate sponsorship opportunities that align with brand values and target audience.
  • Prepare sponsorship proposals for internal approval.
  • Coordinate sponsorship agreements and deliverables with event organizers while supporting negotiations led by the Business Development & Sales Specialist.
  • Ensure sponsor commitments are fulfilled and brand is represented accurately across all materials.

Business Development & Sales
  • Develop and maintain relationships with prospective customers, sponsors, exhibitors, and industry partners.
  • Prospect and qualify new leads generated through events and sponsorship activations; document and route facility sales leads to the Business Development & Sales Specialist in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date lead records in HubSpot software to support seamless handoffs and pipeline visibility.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop event-specific collateral and promotional strategies.
  • Stay current on industry trends, competitors, and emerging event opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities:
  • Excellent project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to complete multiple work functions simultaneously.
  • Intermediate to expert ability in MS Office products, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Comfortable engaging with executives, partners, and prospects
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to travel for events as needed (estimated 30% travel, with potential to increase as the role grows).
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs for event logistics support.
  • Ability to stand for 4-6-hour periods.

Education & Experience:
  • Minimum of one (1+) years of experience in sales, brand ambassador, business development, or event marketing.
  • Proven track record of generating leads, building relationships, and contributing to sales or revenue growth through business development activities.
  • HubSpot experience and/or certifications, preferred.

Compensation:
The anticipated compensation range for this position is $18.00 - $31.00 per hour, depending on qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
For applicants who will perform this position in Colorado, the anticipated compensation range is $23.00 - $31.00 per hour.
Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, internal equity, and market considerations.
