Job description

MRO Quality Engineer
CTL Aerospace is a full service NADCAP certified composite-manufacturing company and MRO providing services to the major aerospace and governmental organizations since 1946.
We are seeking a talented professional to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment as a Repair Quality Engineer at our northern Cincinnati, Ohio MRO Division (less than 30 minutes from Dayton and/or Northern Kentucky). CTL MRO Division specializes in composite and metallic components for commercial aircraft engines.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for an Aerospace Repair Quality Engineer with a detail-oriented approach to work in an empowered setting with a broad range of duties.
Job Description:
As an MRO Quality Engineer, you will review engine components and repair procedures for part repair and overhaul. Reporting to the QC Supervisor, the successful candidate will have the following experience and abilities:
  • Inspection of engine components.
  • Review/Approve written and illustrated repair plans, bills of material and outside purchase specifications per engineering drawings/specifications.
  • Provide training and support for QC Inspectors.
  • Participate in quality/engineering review of discrepant parts including Cause and Corrective Action.
  • Coordinate new and current business requirements with Production, Contracts and Engineering.
  • Support Production in delivery of products to customers on schedule.

Qualifications/Requirements:
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following minimum requirements:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in an aerospace/aviation engineering role, preferably at an MRO/Part 145 component repair station or aviation inspection/mechanic experience.
  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • American Citizen or Green Card Holder
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to interact with people on the shop floor, good social skills, and able to work with diverse work groups.
  • Must have excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills.

Desired Characteristics:
  • Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering bachelor's degree.
  • Familiarity with GE/CFM Engine Shop Manuals and Standard Practices.
  • Airframe and Powerplant License or prior FAA Repairman Certificate.
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations.
  • Airline and/or MRO experience.
  • Technical writing experience.
  • Prior manufacturing or fabrication experience.
  • CMM operating and/or programming experience.

This position requires you to undergo a DOT/FAA pre-employment drug test for the following prohibited drugs (as defined in 49 CFR § 40.3) prior to being hired or transferred into a Department of Transportation (DOT) safety-sensitive position as defined in 14 CFR part 120[1]:
• Marijuana, Cocaine, Opioids, Phencyclidine (PCP), and Amphetamines.
[1] A safety-sensitive function, as described in 14 CFR part 120, §§ 120.105 and 120.215, includes a flight crewmember, flight attendant, flight instructor, aircraft dispatcher, aircraft maintenance or preventive maintenance, ground security coordinator, aviation screener, air traffic controller, and operations control specialist.
