Job description

St. Luke’s Health - The Woodlands Hospital is a 245 bed facility serving North Harris and Montgomery counties. The hospital has been recognized as a Best Hospital by U.S. News & World Report, and is proud to serve as the clinical home for the Dan L Duncan Cancer Center. The hospital was awarded an “A” hospital safety grade by The Leapfrog Group in both 2023 and 2025. Clinical services provided include cardiovascular services, diagnostic imaging, women’s services (digital mammography and bone density studies), neurosciences, pediatric care (Newborn and Level III nurseries), surgery, pathology and pulmonary services, and sleep disorder services.


As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations to assist in diagnosing medical conditions.
Every day you will prepare patients for scans, operate advanced MRI equipment, ensure patient safety in the magnetic environment, and accurately capture detailed anatomical images.
To be successful, you will demonstrate expert technical proficiency in MRI, meticulous attention to detail for image quality and safety, and excellent patient communication to ensure a comfortable and effective diagnostic experience.

  • Responsible in enforcing magnetic field safety for MRI patients, operator and visitors.
  • Monitors the patient’s condition before and after the scan to ensure patient safety and comfort
  • Explains testing procedures to patient ensuring patient understands what the involvement of the exam.
  • Positions and instructs the patient about the preparation for the MRI test
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy of the head, thorax and abdomen, physiology, and MRI terminology, practices and procedures
  • Be familiar with specific MRI coding systems

Required

  • High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire and
  • Registered Technologist Magnetic Resonance Imaging, within 9 - months or
  • Registered Technologist Computed Tomography, within 9 - months or
  • ARMRIT MRI, within 9 - months or
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, within 9 - months and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days and


Preferred

  • Associates Other in Healthcare field or Imaging Studies, upon hire and
  • 1-3 years One year of MR experience , upon hire
  • Medical Radiographer: TX, upon hire
