Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations to assist in diagnosing medical conditions.

Every day you will prepare patients for scans, operate advanced MRI equipment, ensure patient safety in the magnetic environment, and accurately capture detailed anatomical images.

To be successful, you will demonstrate expert technical proficiency in MRI, meticulous attention to detail for image quality and safety, and excellent patient communication to ensure a comfortable and effective diagnostic experience.

  • Prepares equipment for imaging tests, based on physicians’ orders and in adherence to department safeguards and protocols to ensure quality results.

  • Prepares patient and performs MRI procedures.

  • Maintains records and logs as required by department protocols and licensure requirements.

  • Performs incidental general office duties to include; answering phone; scheduling; filing; maintaining patient records; ordering supplies.

  • Lead Job Duties:

  • Monitors and adjusts patient flow to minimize wait-time; identifies excessive volumes and makes arrangements for increased staff.

  • Serves as a resource to staff on the protocols of the MRI equipment and responsible for the maintenance of such equipment.

  • Provides on-the-job training and mentoring to new or lower-level employees; prepares work schedules and reviews work to ensure it meets quality and productivity standards; educates staff on magnet safety and practice; identifies training needs and advises higher-level authority.

  • Monitors individual staff performance and provides feedback to higher-level authority; coaches employees on procedures and protocols; may provide input into formal employee performance evaluations.

  • Maintains level of supplies and orders supplies as needed.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Radiological Technology, upon hire and

  • Lead: One year of work experience in the senior level of the job family, or any combination of experience or education that would demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of the position.

  • Basic Life Support (through AHA) - CPR, upon hire and

  • Medical Radiographer: WA, upon hire and

  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire or

  • Registered Technologist Magnetic Resonance Imaging, upon hire
