East River Medical Imaging (ERMI) is an independent radiology center serving patients and referring providers for over four decades. With locations on Manhattan's Upper East Side and White Plains, ERMI is known for advanced technology, top-quality imaging services, and a warm, caring environment. ERMI is now hiring an experienced Mammography Technologist to join our team on the Upper East Side in New York City. In this role, you will deliver high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography services in an outpatient imaging setting, supporting ERMI's commitment to clinical excellence and exceptional patient care.

About the Role

As a Mammography Technologist, you'll play a key role in ensuring accurate, high-quality breast imaging while providing a supportive experience for patients. This is a hands-on clinical role in a collaborative outpatient environment where technologists work closely with radiologists and clinical leadership to maintain the highest standards of care.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and position patients for screening and diagnostic mammography procedures
  • Explain procedures clearly to reduce patient anxiety and ensure cooperation
  • Operate mammography equipment and determine appropriate exposure factors to produce high-quality images
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff
  • Perform imaging on modern Hologic mammography systems, including 3D tomosynthesis.

Image Quality & Compliance:

  • Review images for proper identification, positioning, and quality control prior to radiologist interpretation
  • Perform Quality Assurance and quality control testing as required by MQSA
  • Assist with MQSA inspections and maintain compliance documentation in accordance with MQSA, FDA, and New York State regulations

Equipment & Workflow Support:

  • Perform routine equipment checks; identify, diagnosis malfunctions, conducts and/or arranges maintenance and repair needs.
  • Prepare images and documentation for radiologist review.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, sonographers, and leadership to support efficient patient flow.

About You

You'd be a great fit if you bring the following:

  • ARRT certification in Radiography (RT) with Mammography specialty certification (ARRT-MG)
  • Active New York State Radiologic Technologist (RT) license with injection, in good standing
  • Experience performing both screening and diagnostic mammography
  • MQSA/FDA-compliant mammography credentials including current CME and documented case volume
  • Active BLS certification
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care
  • Ability to complete two weeks in-person training (paid) at our Manhattan location prior to transitioning to the White Plains site
  • COVID-19 Vaccination required

The following experience is a plus:
