Stefanini is looking for an IBM MQ (Message Queue) Administrator - Remote

Responsibilities:

  • Deploys the release of new technologies as well as designs, installs, configures, maintains and performs system integration testing of PC/server operating systems, related utilities and hardware.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting server problems as reported by users. Researches, evaluates and recommends software and hardware products. Supports Web access and electronic messaging services and maintains a secure systems environment.
  • Provides new hardware specifications to users based on application needs and anticipated growth, installs new servers and maintains the server infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Installation & Configuration
  • Install and configure IBM MQ software on various platforms (Windows, Linux, Unix, AIX)
  • Set up queue managers, queues, channels, and listeners
  • Configure clustering and high availability solutions
  • Implement security protocols and SSL/TLS configurations
  • Set up multi-instance queue managers for failover capabilities
2. Administration & Maintenance
  • Monitor queue depths, channel status, and system performance
  • Manage message flow and resolve message build-ups
  • Perform regular health checks and system audits
  • Apply patches, updates, and version upgrades
  • Maintain message retention policies and archiving strategies
  • Configure dead letter queues and error handling
3. Security Management
  • Implement authentication and authorization controls
  • Configure Channel Authentication Records (CHLAUTH)
