Job description

Seeking a dependable and experienced Mowing Crew Leader to oversee daily lawn maintenance activities. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for directing crew members, operating commercial equipment, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and work alongside crew members in completing mowing and general lawn-maintenance services.
  • Assign daily tasks and coordinate crew activities to support efficient completion of scheduled work.
  • Operate commercial lawn mowers, line trimmers, backpack blowers, hand tools, power tools, and other landscaping equipment.
  • Train crew members on safe equipment operation, proper work methods, and company expectations.
  • Monitor work quality and ensure customer properties are left clean, professional, and free of debris.
  • Perform routine cleanup, including the removal of trash, grass clippings, leaves, and other debris from landscaped areas.
  • Conduct basic equipment inspections and report maintenance or repair needs promptly.
  • Follow established safety procedures and ensure crew members use equipment and personal protective equipment appropriately.
  • Communicate job progress, property concerns, equipment issues, and staffing needs to management.
  • Assist with seasonal services, including leaf removal and snow removal, as needed.
  • Maintain dependable attendance and arrive prepared for scheduled work.
  • Perform other related grounds-maintenance duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • At least one year of mowing, landscaping, grounds-maintenance, or related outdoor work experience.
  • Previous experience leading or training crew members preferred.
  • Valid Missouri Class E driver's license.
  • Knowledge of lawn-maintenance tools, equipment, materials, and standard work practices.
  • Ability to safely and efficiently operate commercial mowing equipment, vehicles, trailers, power tools, and hand tools.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Dependable, punctual, and committed to completing quality work.
