About Moving Van

Moving Van is a locally owned residential moving company with a strong reputation, a hardworking team, and an exciting future ahead. We care deeply about the experience we provide our customers and the environment we create for our team. As the company continues to grow, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact and help shape what comes next.

This Is Not a Desk-Bound Sales Role

Moving Van is hiring its first dedicated Moving Sales Consultant to help drive the next stage of our growth. This is a field-based sales and business-development role for someone who enjoys meeting people, building relationships, conducting onsite consultations, and creating new opportunities.

You will also manage a steady flow of homeowners and renters already looking for moving services. Success requires balancing those immediate opportunities with the longer-term work of developing realtor relationships, commercial accounts, and referral business throughout the Nashville area.

No two days in this role will look exactly the same. One morning, you may be conducting an in-home estimate for a larger residential move. That afternoon, you could be meeting with a realtor, visiting a commercial prospect, following up with customers from your laptop, or working from home between appointments. You will have flexibility in how you organize your day, but you will also be expected to remain responsive, productive, and accountable.

We want you to build a book of business, not just manage ours.

What You’ll Do

  • Build relationships with realtors and other professionals who regularly work with people preparing to move.
  • Identify and pursue commercial, referral, and recurring-account opportunities.
  • Conduct in-home, commercial, phone, and virtual moving consultations.
  • Attend networking events, open houses, community events, and other business-development opportunities.
  • Respond quickly and professionally to inbound phone, web, and referral opportunities.
  • Prepare accurate estimates and clearly communicate Moving Van’s services and value.
  • Follow up consistently with open estimates until the customer makes a decision.
  • Work closely with dedicated outbound support to turn prospecting activity into appointments, relationships, and revenue.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, lead sources, sales activity, and follow-up information.
  • Coordinate with our operations and administrative team once work is booked.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor throughout the customer’s moving journey.

Types of Opportunities You’ll Handle

  • Residential moves of varying sizes and complexity
  • Full-service packing and moving projects
  • Larger moves requiring in-home consultations
  • Realtor and professional referrals
  • Local commercial and office moves
  • Recurring commercial accounts
  • Specialty moving projects

What Winning Looks Like

This role has two core objectives: convert the opportunities Moving Van already creates and create new opportunities we would not otherwise have.

  • Revenue: Your sales activity turns into booked and completed work.
  • Business Development: You create new referral relationships, accounts, and opportunities.
  • Conversion: You make the most of qualified opportunities the company provides.
  • Speed and Follow-Up: You respond quickly to new leads and keep open opportunities from falling through the cracks.
  • Accuracy and Accountability: Your estimates, CRM records, lead sources, and customer communication are dependable.

Compensation

  • Base Pay: $24,000 annually following the introductory training period.
  • First 90 Days: Elevated guaranteed base pay while you train and begin building your pipeline.
  • Commission: Uncapped commission begins on Day 1, with higher rewards for new business you help create.
  • Performance Incentives: Additional earning opportunities are available for reaching established sales milestones.
  • Target Total Earnings: $50,000 to $75,000+, with additional upside for high performers.

Full compensation details are discussed with qualified candidates during the interview process.

Training and Support

Moving industry experience is helpful, but not required. Your first weeks will include working directly with the owner, learning our pricing and estimating process, using our CRM and sales technology, shadowing phone, virtual, and onsite estimates, and spending time in the field seeing how our crews perform the work you are selling.

As your knowledge grows, you will progressively take ownership of inbound opportunities, estimates, follow-up, field appointments, and business development. You will also have dedicated outbound sales support from Day 1 to help identify prospects and create opportunities for you to pursue.

Who Thrives in This Role

  • You enjoy selling and want your income tied to measurable results.
  • You are energized by meeting new people and building relationships.
  • You focus on understanding customers’ needs and recommending the right solution without relying on high-pressure sales tactics.
  • You follow up consistently instead of waiting for customers to call you back.
  • You are comfortable balancing quick-turn inbound leads with longer-term referral and commercial opportunities.
  • You enjoy being out in the field but are equally comfortable handling calls, follow-up, and estimates from your laptop.
  • You manage your time well and remain productive without constant supervision.
  • You stay organized while managing leads, estimates, appointments, relationships, and follow-up.
  • You take ownership, learn technology quickly, and follow through on your commitments.

Previous experience in sales, business development, account management, relationship-based selling, or a similar customer-facing role is preferred.

Why Join Moving Van

You will step into a role with active sales opportunities, hands-on training, flexibility in how you organize your day, and the chance to help shape Moving Van’s sales program as the company grows.

  • Existing inbound sales opportunities and dedicated outbound support
  • Paid, hands-on training and direct access to the owner
  • Elevated guaranteed base pay during the first 90 days
  • Uncapped commission and performance incentives
  • Paid time off
  • Company-provided CRM and sales technology
  • Approved mileage and business-development expenses under company reporting procedures
  • Flexibility to organize your work around appointments, customer needs, and sales activity
  • The opportunity to influence how Moving Van’s sales process and future sales team develop
