Job description

Company Driver / Material Handler – Manufacturing

4-Day Workweek | Monday–Thursday | 6:00 AM–4:30 PM

Drive. Deliver. Keep Production Moving.

We’re looking for a dependable Company Driver / Material Handler to support our precision manufacturing operation by transporting raw materials and manufactured parts between our facility and outside processing suppliers.

This is not just a driving position. You’ll play an important role in keeping jobs moving through production by making timely pickups and deliveries, safely handling valuable precision-machined parts, and communicating with our team and suppliers throughout the day.

What You’ll Do

As our Company Driver / Material Handler, you will:

  • Pick up and deliver raw materials, machined parts, and finished components to and from outside processing suppliers.
  • Load and unload company vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Use a forklift when necessary to load and unload materials, pallets, and parts.
  • Secure loads properly to prevent damage during transportation.
  • Handle precision-machined components carefully to protect them from damage, scratches, or contamination.
  • Verify parts, quantities, paperwork, and delivery information before leaving each location.
  • Maintain communication with Purchasing and Operations regarding pickups, deliveries, delays, and supplier status.
  • Obtain required signatures, certifications, packing slips, and other documentation from suppliers.
  • Assist with packaging, staging, and preparing materials for transportation.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of the company vehicle.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and applicable driving regulations.
  • Assist with other material handling, shipping, receiving, or shop support duties as needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean and responsible driving record.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to manage a daily pickup and delivery schedule.
  • Comfortable driving a company cargo van throughout the workday.
  • Ability to safely lift and move materials and packages.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, shipping/receiving, warehouse operations, or material handling is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail when handling parts and paperwork.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with outside suppliers and our internal team.
  • Someone who takes ownership of their work and understands that on-time pickups and deliveries directly impact production schedules and customer commitments.

Why This Role Matters

In precision manufacturing, parts frequently travel between our facility and specialized suppliers for operations such as heat treating, plating, coating, grinding, and other outside processes.

Our driver helps connect those operations.

A missed pickup or delayed delivery can hold up an entire production job. We’re looking for someone who understands the importance of being reliable, organized, careful, and on time while representing our company professionally at every supplier they visit.

If you’re dependable, enjoy being on the road, and want a hands-on position where your work directly contributes to a manufacturing operation, we’d like to hear from you.
