Job description

Thelaboratory of Dr. Yuwei Jiang in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics atthe University of Illinois Chicago has an immediate opening for a Visiting ResearchScientist to support research in adipose tissue biology, obesity, diabetes, andaging.
Thesuccessful candidate will lead and support studies of adipose progenitor cellbiology, beige and brown adipogenesis, metabolic phenotyping, mitochondrialfunction, and epigenetic regulation of adipose tissue function.

JobResponsibilities

Design, execute, analyze, and troubleshoot experiments suitable for peer-reviewed publication and grant reporting.
Conduct studies involving inducible genetic mouse models, adipose lineage tracing, tissue collection, cold exposure, dietary challenge, glucose and insulin tolerance testing, and in vivo metabolic phenotyping.
Perform qPCR, immunoblotting, immunofluorescence, histology, adipocyte differentiation, mitochondrial assays, CUT&RUN/epigenomics, transcriptomics, and bioinformatic analysis.
Analyze data, prepare figures, maintain research records, and report findings to the PI and research team.
Train students, fellows, and junior laboratory personnel in adipose biology, metabolism, mouse genetics, epigenomics, and data analysis.
