Description:

The New York City Carpenters Training Center is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced individual to join our team as a Part-Time Health and Safety Instructor. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training on health and safety practices to carpenters.


Job Responsibilities:

· Develop and deliver training programs on health and safety practices in the construction industry, specifically tailored to the needs of carpenters.

· Create lesson plans, presentations, and instructional materials to effectively convey key information and engage participants.

· Facilitate classroom and hands-on training sessions, ensuring a dynamic and interactive learning environment.

· Conduct assessments and evaluations to measure the effectiveness of training programs and identify areas for improvement.

· Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices related to health and safety and incorporate this knowledge into training materials and curriculum.

· Collaborate with the Training Center team to continuously improve the training program and meet the evolving needs of carpenters.

· Provide guidance and support to participants, addressing any questions or concerns related to health and safety practices.

Requirements:

· Must be a member in Good Standing with The New York City District Council of Carpenters.

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry, with a focus on health and safety.

· Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry.

· Experience in delivering training programs or instructional sessions to adult learners.

· Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.

· Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

· Proficiency in using computer software, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and training management systems.

· Relevant certifications, such as OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification, are highly desirable.
