Job description

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to support a U.S. government client's mission-critical communications and data infrastructure in the Miami, FL area. This is a fully onsite position supporting a program that provides continuous, live operational support to partner organizations, with a strong focus on full-motion video and real-time data feed reliability.
The ideal candidate brings deep networking expertise (Cisco-centric environment), is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, mission-focused setting, and can help plan, architect, and grow a technical capability that connects a cloud-based Kubernetes platform with on-premise infrastructure.
What You'll Do
  • Serve as the senior onsite technical resource for network engineering and platform-adjacent support, ensuring uptime and reliability of live data and video feeds.
  • Design, plan, and help architect the growth of the site's technical capability, including staffing and resourcing recommendations.
  • Manage and troubleshoot Cisco-based network infrastructure, including firewalls, supporting the connection between on-premise hardware and a cloud-based Kubernetes environment.
  • Partner with a peer team supporting an equivalent, geographically separate program to align standards, share lessons learned, and receive knowledge transfer during ramp-up.
  • Support day-to-day operational needs and coordinate with government stakeholders on capability requirements and priorities.
  • Mentor and help train a second, more junior team member onsite.

What We're Looking For
  • 10+ years of progressive network engineering experience, ideally within a defense, federal, or other mission-critical environment.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Cisco networking and security appliances (routing, switching, firewalls).
  • Working familiarity with cloud-based Kubernetes platforms and how they interconnect with on-premise systems (platform engineering exposure is a plus, not a requirement).
  • Prior military service, or extensive experience supporting defense-sector environments, strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently in a senior, client-facing technical role - comfortable with architecture, planning, and staffing conversations, not just hands-on-keyboard work.
  • Excellent communication skills and the judgment to operate in a high-visibility, live-operations environment.

Clearance Requirement
An active U.S. Government security clearance is required. TS/SCI is preferred; candidates with an active Secret clearance and strong qualifications will also be considered.
Location & Schedule
This position is 100% onsite in the Miami, FL area. This is not a remote or hybrid role.
Compensation
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Details will be discussed during the interview process.
