Executive Communications Designer - 12 month contractPosition Overview

We are seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Executive Communications Designer to join a Chief of Staff Communications team supporting senior business leaders. This role will transform executive messaging, business priorities, and complex ideas into polished presentations and visual assets that are clear, compelling, and appropriate for high-visibility audiences.

Working closely with senior leaders, Chiefs of Staff, communications professionals, and cross-functional partners, the Executive Communications Designer will develop presentation narratives from initial concept through final delivery. Content will support executive keynotes, company-wide meetings, leadership forums, customer engagements, corporate events, and press opportunities.

The ideal candidate combines exceptional PowerPoint expertise with strong visual storytelling, business judgment, and design discipline. This person should be comfortable simplifying complex material, recommending stronger ways to communicate a message, and delivering executive-ready work under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with senior leaders and executive communications teams to translate business priorities, strategic initiatives, and leadership perspectives into clear visual narratives.
  • Develop structured presentation stories with a focused message, logical flow, and audience-appropriate level of detail.
  • Synthesize complex business, product, and technical information into concise, high-impact slides.
  • Design and refine executive presentations, including slide layouts, graphics, imagery, charts, diagrams, and iconography.
  • Maintain exceptional standards for typography, spacing, visual hierarchy, color, consistency, and brand alignment.
  • Review and improve existing presentation materials to strengthen clarity, storytelling, and executive-level polish.
  • Collaborate with business leaders, communications, marketing, product, new product introduction, and creative teams to gather information and align messaging.
  • Manage stakeholder feedback and complete revisions efficiently, including projects with compressed production schedules.
  • Support executive keynotes, company-wide meetings, leadership forums, customer presentations, and press events with responsive creative execution.
  • Recommend ways to simplify complex messages and improve the clarity and impact of leadership communications.
  • Create supporting visual assets for executive communications using Adobe Creative Suite and other design tools.
  • Develop light motion or video elements, such as presentation transitions, short clips, and simple edits, when needed.
  • Use AI-assisted tools to explore creative concepts, accelerate production, generate or refine visual assets, and improve presentation workflows.
  • Manage multiple projects, stakeholder reviews, and deadlines across a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Stay current on presentation design practices, emerging AI capabilities, creative technology, and visual communication trends.
Required Qualifications
  • Three to five or more years of professional experience in presentation design, visual communications, graphic design, or a related creative field.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, supported by demonstrated experience creating polished presentations for executives and senior leaders.
  • Strong visual storytelling skills, including the ability to translate complex strategies, business priorities, and leadership messaging into clear presentation narratives.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
  • Strong knowledge of visual hierarchy, typography, layout, spacing, color, composition, and information design.
  • Ability to transform dense or complex information into concise, audience-appropriate visual content.
  • Experience working within established brand standards and maintaining visual consistency across high-visibility communications.
  • Ability to independently manage assignments from initial brief through design, revision, and final delivery.
  • Strong creative judgment and the ability to clearly explain design and storytelling recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Comfort collaborating with executives, Chiefs of Staff, communications professionals, and business teams across functions and time zones.
  • Experience using AI-assisted tools, such as Microsoft Copilot, generative design and image platforms, or presentation assistants, to improve creative workflows and output quality.
  • A professional design or presentation portfolio demonstrating relevant work is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communications, marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Experience creating executive keynotes, company-wide presentations, board-level materials, leadership communications, or customer-facing presentations.
  • Experience supporting high-visibility corporate events, product announcements, or press engagements.
  • Familiarity with video or motion-design tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, or comparable platforms.
  • Experience developing presentation content for commercial technology, enterprise products, or business-to-business audiences.
