Pay Range

$25.02 - $37.53Job DescriptionThe CST is an allied health professional who works under the supervision of a surgeon to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. They possess expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique and combine the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate a physician's performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
Education
Graduate of an accredited surgical technology course required.
Certification & Licensures
State board certification required prior to the start of employment
Qualifications
Demonstrates expertise in the delivery of care and possesses the skills necessary to perform complex tasks.
Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed in order to provide care for the age group of patients served.
