The role plays a key part in developing reliable demand forecasts within the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) cycle, ensuring strong alignment between commercial inputs, revenue projections, and supply chain requirements. The Demand Planner operates with a high level of autonomy, actively contributing insights, challenging assumptions, and driving continuous improvement in forecast accuracy and planning processes. DEMAND PLANNING & FORECASTING OWNERSHIP ▪ Develop, maintain, and continuously improve demand forecasts using historical data, statistical models, and validated commercial inputs. ▪ Create an accurate and reliable demand plan by consolidating inputs from internal divisions, enabling company to manage integrated demand and projected revenues. ▪ Ensure demand plans are clearly communicated to Supply Chain to support effective supply, production, and inventory planning. ▪ Actively identify demand risks and opportunities and propose mitigation or improvement actions. DEMAND PLANNING SYSTEMS & SAP ▪ Use and maintain Demand Planning software and SAP (e.g. SAP IBP, SAP APO, or SAP ERP demand modules) as the primary planning tools. ▪ Analyze multiple demand scenarios to support business decision‑making and define the most realistic and robust demand plan. ▪ Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and master‑data quality within SAP and demand planning systems. ▪ Support enhancements to planning models, parameters, and processes in collaboration with IT and Supply Chain teams. CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION & S&OP ▪ Actively collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Finance to gather, review, and validate demand assumptions. ▪ Play a key role in S&OP meetings by presenting demand analyses, explaining variances, and supporting demand consensus. ▪ Facilitate effective information flow among divisions, enabling aligned decision‑making and a robust Demand Consensus plan. ▪ Act as a point of contact for demand‑related topics within the assigned scope (products, customers, or regions). REPORTING, ANALYSIS & KPI TRACKING ▪ Prepare regular demand planning reports and dashboards using SAP and planning tools. ▪ Monitor forecast accuracy, forecast bias, and other relevant demand planning KPIs. ▪ Perform root‑cause analysis of forecast deviations and support corrective and preventive actions. ▪ Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing forecast reliability and planning efficiency.
