Electrical Engineer/Technologist Co-op Student- Summer 2027

Where will you work: Mosaic Potash Esterhazy is an underground potash mine located 90 kilometers south of Yorkton. It's split between three mine sites - K1, K2 and K3 which will be the largest, and one of the world's most competitive underground potash mines in the world. Housing and relocation can be provided for qualified candidates.

An Electrical Engineer/Technologist Co-op Student supports critical power and infrastructure systems, with exposure to both day-to-day operations and large-scale capital projects. The position offers the opportunity to build technical expertise while contributing to system reliability, safety, and long-term electrical planning. Full time Co-Op/Internship. Typically, 36-40 hoursa week.

In person. 9/80 schedule.

What you'll do:

  • Perform electrical drawing redlines and field audits for power, communication/network, and control systems to ensure documentation accuracy

  • Assist with and lead switching sequences and lockout procedures during maintenance shutdowns, outages, and major electrical PM activities

  • Support major upcoming electrical projects, including hoist and MCC upgrades, underground grid expansions, substation replacements, and long-term power demand and protection studies

  • Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), tradespersons, and contractors.

  • Participation in department meetings, and meetings specific to project assignments.

  • Adhering to Mosaic's mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies.

What you'll need:

  • Entering third year level or above by May 2027 pursuing a bachelor's in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a Completed 1st year of Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology Diploma.

  • Ability to function in an industrial chemical, and mining environment.

  • 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, orworkis preferred.

  • Previousinternship or co-op experience is preferred.

  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.

  • Ability to work full timeand be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship

  • Selected candidates willbe requiredto successfully completepost-offer/pre-placementdrug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination.

  • Basic computer skills are required

  • Experience working in a team environment is a must

  • Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable

  • Effective verbal communication skills is a plus

  • Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments
