Position Overview:

Are you looking for an opportunity to join our fast paced and passionate team that supports multiple IT applications built on various technologies with continuous modernization in progress?

We are Modern Delivery Tool Chain (MDTC) accountable to lead continuous improvement of operations, operational automation, and high availability for tools.

Our Impact:

  • We build and enhance software applications required for mandatory reporting of Freddie Mac's mortgage loan data to Federal Housing Finance Agency.

  • Partner with Product and Business team members to ensure high quality product is developed and released into production.

  • Work closely with Architecture, Stakeholders, Operations Partners, and Business Product teams to specify and refine solutions and practices.

  • Evolve a DevOps culture to provide high quality, continuous operations, and ongoing support ensuring critical service level metrics, customer requirements and financial objectives.

  • Driver for modernization of Freddie Mac's 5000+ customers to release small incremental changes to production at 5x pace.

Your Impact:

  • Maintain AWS infrastructure and cloud environments to support platform reliability, availability, security, compliance, and operational readiness.

  • Manage Amazon S3 buckets, including access controls, lifecycle policies, storage optimization, data retention, and operational support.

  • Create and maintain CTF and Terraform templates to standardize infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and repeatable deployments.

  • Perform production and non-production environment operations, including configuration updates, patch coordination, validations, monitoring, and issue remediation.

  • Support Amazon Aurora databases through monitoring, performance reviews, backup validation, availability support, and maintenance coordination.

  • Enhance platform health capabilities through self-healing, resiliency improvements, and continuous feedback mechanisms.

  • Develop automation using Groovy, Ansible, Selenium and shell scripting to streamline routine enterprise operations.

  • Develop CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and Spinnaker to support microservice deployments in Amazon EKS and OpenShift Console environments.

  • Use code quality, code coverage, and security scanning tools, including SAST/DAST solutions such as Fortify, Blackduck and SonarQube.

  • Manage code and release processes using Git, Bitbucket, Helm, Spinnaker, Jenkins, and Jira.

  • Lead technical team focused on infrastructure stability, operational efficiency, cost optimization, and continuous improvement.

  • Partner with application, infrastructure, database, security, and operations teams to resolve incidents, support releases, improve resiliency, and meet service level objectives.

  • Drive automation and operational improvements reduce manual effort, improve environment consistency, and strengthen platform support

  • Implement AI/ML capabilities in DevOps to improve operational efficiency, incident response, release quality, and observability. Leverage AI for log analysis, anomaly detection, root cause analysis, automation, and engineering productivity. Establish secure and compliant AI best practices across software delivery workflows.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, advanced degree, or equivalent directly relevant professional experience.

  • 8-10 years of experience delivering technology solutions through the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

  • 5+ years of experience working in complex AWS and Unix environments.

  • Experience or strong interest in applying AI in DevOps, including AIOps, intelligent monitoring, automation, and AI-assisted engineering workflows.

  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders ranging from senior leadership to product team members.

  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS, Python, Java, and Groovy.

  • Excellent writing skills with strong attention to detail in documentation.

  • Demonstrated interest in expanding knowledge and expertise in cloud-based technologies and architectural patterns

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $154,000 - $230,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program.
